Go Away Mosquitos

Too much food at Ivan's party but it was a joy to spend our last spring days in Kent relaxing with friends. Our Kent Free Library concert was a success with many people supporting us and hearing us perform. Thanks for coming! Our next post will be from Canada so goodbye Kent.

Hot and Muggy

The time has come for the air-conditioner to turn on. For the past few days, the temperature has been in the upper 80's and frisbee has been the sport of choice. Hope that many of you can make it to our Kent Free Library concert this weekend. We have a great program lined up with Haydn, Op. 71, No. 1, Bartok No. 3, and Beethoven, Op. 59, No. 2. After that, we head our separate ways until June 6, where we travel off to Banff, Canada to enjoy the chamber program at the Banff Music Centre.

Full of Hot Dogs

Robby Robinson took us all out to an Indians game in Cleveland this weekend. It was beautiful out and we enjoyed eating the hot dogs and watching the home team win. We also got to see an alligator walking around.

Pre-Vacation Vacation

Our final orchestra concert was held at Severance Hall in Cleveland and the place has some amazing acoustics. We finished up finals and our semester with flying colors and look forward to traveling this summer. With a month to go before Banff, what else is there to do other than rehearse, eat, and sleep? For our music history final, we finally got to see our professor's home library. He has rooms and rooms of LPs, CDs, and books...something like over 15,000 items. He made us some popcorn and we watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail for our final. We passed.

Charles is IN Charge again

Our schedules remained hectic even with Charly absent for the week. Orchestra kept us busy because of the school's 100 year celebration and we performed with some of our colleagues for their recitals. Marlene from the Aidan String Quartet was nice enough to play with us for a WKSU gig. We finally got to see what a real thunderstorm was like and how fast the weather can change from hot to cold, sun to rain, and dry to humid all in a matter of hours. When Charly finally returned, he brought us some really good cheese all the way from Switzerland.

Charles is NOT in Charge

Charly went to visit some family in Switzerland and so we all recieved some well deserved time off. Before he took off though, we worked double time and got a lot done.
